The wineries that are part of Corpinnat are heirs to a history forged in the Penedès over nearly three millennia.
A story that begins with the presence of vines around 2,700 years ago, gaining momentum from the 18th century onwards, when the expansion of vineyards transformed the landscape and consolidated a culture closely tied to the land and commerce. Since then, the vine has not only shaped the territory, but also the identity and way of life of the people who have inhabited it.

THE GREAT CATALAN WINE REGION
It is not until the 19th century that the Penedès becomes one of Catalonia's great winemaking engines.
The boost in exports and the capacity to adapt to European crises placed our territory in an advantageous position within the country's economy for the first time. Yet it was also a period of great transformation: the phylloxera crisis forced a rethinking of the production model and paved the way for new varieties and new ways of understanding wine.
This metamorphosis culminated in the 20th century with the rise of sparkling wines crafted using the traditional method. Sector consolidation and the establishment of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia as the epicenter allowed the winemaking model to continue, ensuring the preservation of the landscape and projecting the Penedès internationally under the Cava Designation of Origin.
RECLAIMING ORIGIN
THE BIRTH OF CORPINNAT
In the middle of the last decade, a group of wineries from the heart of the Penedès began meeting with a shared idea: to work together to guarantee the highest quality of sparkling wines and to highlight our territory. We wanted to build a model that would protect the Penedès not only as a landscape, but also as a living territory. A model committed to the people who work the vineyards, guaranteeing fair prices for winegrowers, and to the environment, by committing to 100% organic viticulture.
To this commitment were added demanding quality criteria: 100% on-site vinification and a minimum aging of 18 months to ensure the excellence and personality of our sparkling wines.
THE CORPINNAT DNA
A project born in 2017 in the heart of the Penedès to give shape and voice to the uniqueness of its origin.
With the turn of the 21st century, Cava's commercial success drove an expansion focused on volume, exerting strong downward pressure on prices that jeopardized the sustainability of viticulture and the perceived quality of the wines. This context intensified the debate over the growth model and the need to strengthen the identity of Penedès sparkling wines through stricter standards, organic viticulture, and the valorization of their origin and craft.
In this context, Corpinnat was born in 2017, founded by several winegrower-producers seeking to move away from Cava's low-price model and champion a sparkling wine closely linked to the territory and its viticulture.
We must take a step forward and highlight, with greater rigor than ever, the essence of the territory.
Reclaiming the prominence of origin, dignifying organic viticulture, championing manual harvesting, on-site winery production, and aging time as indispensable elements to achieve wines with identity and authenticity. In short, repositioning sparkling wines originating from the Penedès with a profound bond to the territory. As Xavier Gramona, the collective brand's first president, used to say: “Our primary concern is that wines have an identity, and that cannot be understood without a territory.”
Corpinnat thus represents a new stage in this collective journey: the maturity of a territory projecting its future with full awareness of its legacy. Beyond being a collective brand, Corpinnat is a way of understanding great sparkling wines as a territorial and cultural expression, born of a deep commitment to the land and to future generations. A project born in the heart of the Penedès to give shape and voice to the uniqueness of its origin.
